Role Summary: This is an exciting and unique opportunity to support the Engineering team in the product bring-up phase for GE's high sophisticated hardware. In this role, you will support the project team in investigation of new concepts and setup devices and systems. Furthermore, you will be responsible for assembling and updating prototype boards, prepare test scripts and execute tests. The position is targeted with a working time of 15-20h/week and a length of at least 6 months.
Coordination of update/upgrade process for prototype boards/systems
Assembling and customization of prototype boards/systems
Creating new mechanical parts for mounting parts and interface covers
Modification of already existing prototype boards/systems
Performing software and firmware updates
Development and execution of test scripts under Linux/Windows
Documentation of changes and status of modified prototype boards/systems
Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar studies
Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
Experience in handling with mechanical parts
Basic experience in x86 architecture
Self-motivated and results-oriented
Solid communication and coordination skills
Team player with professional presence
Fluent English, good German communication skills
Basic experience with Revision Control Tools (Subversion)
Experience in Linux/Windows scripting
Experience in hardware related programming
Familiar with MS office tools
