Role Summary:
The Area Operations Manager-Services will demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, lead a team of employees to implement and execute customer projects in a safe and timely manner, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Essential Responsibilities:
As the Area operations Manager - Services, you will:

  • Leverage productivity tools to drive completion rates, variable cost, and base cost productivity in a given area
  • Implement and grow service business in region while determining staffing requirements, select qualified staff, handling employment relations issues, and performing quality inspections regularly
  • Supervise on-going projects, responsible for on-time completion, review and implementation of MOP procedures
  • Ensure the execution of availability guarantees, warranty fulfillment, and parts delivery
  • Daily site management to include reporting weekly job progress (job status/completion reports) and identify items that potentially impact schedule and budget. site survey, quality reporting, and enforcement of safety rules per company and customer expectation
  • Develop and mentor personnel for a vital services leadership team
  • Be responsible for all services metrics including training, EHS, profitability, assigned time & productivity while ensuring adherence to all rules and regulations
  • Be responsible for Services sales support and technical support to team members including specifications and drawings, costing and pricing of service products
  • Inform customer about performance rate and problems in order to achieve the highest availability and optimum performance rate
  • Collect performance information and perform final walk through activities according to customer specification
  • Be responsible for large region with many site locations and will have multiple Field Area Managers as direct reports
  • Delineate between volatile and non-volatile work activities when approving/reviewing MOP’s with team members
  • Handle complex power installations including hot transition work safely with high quality so as to avoid incidents and outages completely
  • Perform collateral duties as assigned to meet business needs as they relate to EHS, Quality, Integrity, etc.


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 5 years of experience in installation (Level 1-4 related experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years of telecommunications and cabling / installation of voice and data systems experience
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed



Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience in the use of computer based management and administrative tools.
  • Technical knowledge
  • Ability to manage crews in the basic installation requirements and electronic testing
  • Work with computers and, as such, results in extensive exposure to PC and CRT screens
  • Trade school degree
