Role Summary: Lifecycle Operations Specialist will act as a Technologist providing Business Application Support and managing local IT Infrastructure for GE Oil & Gas. Strong, clear process-driven mindset is needed in every aspect of the position’s responsibilities and is essential for success.
Essential Responsibilities: In the role of Lifecycle Operations Specialist you will:
Assist site business leaders, technical architects and project managers with gathering requirements / initiate / run key technical infrastructure build and upgrade projects.
Drive technical discussions; participate in technical designs.
Execute in an agile delivery mode, run daily scrum calls and focus in delivering tasks to meet priortized projects.
Demonstrate the ability to make informed technology choices after due diligence and impact assessment
Be responsible for providing technical leadership, defining and developing application support insource strategy in a fast paced agile environment.
Knowledge transfer and documentation related to application support to provide continued support to business applications
Understand whole application product, its modules and the interrelationship between them.
Acquisition and Integration projects (A&I)
Proactively monitor and deploy regional and business trends to drive cost reductions/savings in application support, infrastructure & communication spend.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (OR high school diploma/GE High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution with at least 2 years of experience.)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent from an accredited college or university
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
Strong understanding of business processes to drive application portfolio simplification
Understanding of application architecture, middleware, java, cold fusion technology
Biz Application support experience
Have a working knowledge of project management concepts (Scope / Time / Budget).
Lifecycle Operations Specialist may be asked to run select sub projects to assist a technical project manager who may be in a different State/Region.
Experience working with leveraged IT resources onshore / offshore model.
Work independently and without supervision on project tasks assigned
Experience with MDF/IDF Data Cabling / Computer Facilities maintenance.
Six Sigma Certified
