Technical management of subcontracted equipment packages generally associated with the assigned
specialised group within the Mechanical Equipment & Systems Engineering Department.
Compliance with the Quality and EHS rules from the business, sector and corporate within
his/her area of responsibility.
Complying with the requirements of the processes, procedures, design rules and
application of tools as defined in plant business process maps and related instructions.
Ensure a coordinated approach in all areas with the other Engineering Functions.
Supporting the Engineering Department Group Manager in the planning and implementation
of Supplier qualification audits and liaise with the Group Manager and Lead Engineer
Mechanical to complete the Supplier rating during execution.
Qualifications (technical & economic), competencies & knowledge needed to fulfil the position
Engineering school basic knowledge in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and mechanics (as applicable to the group)
Needs to be able to carry out the technical management of suppliers and have necessary
intercultural skills to interface with the suppliers and with other Units within Alstom.
Strong ability to communicate verbally and in written English
Working knowledge of operation of IT data processing (Spreadsheet, graphs, graphic representations, office etc.).
Needs to understand how to manage and work with engineering specialists and consultants covering their technical scope.
Needs to be able to develop a good and effective working relationship with engineers in other
engineering disciplines, purchasing and supplier monitoring.
Good understanding of sub-contractor technical management.
Knowledge of the overall power plant systems
Knowledge of the overall engineering processes and procedures
In–depth knowledge of the processes associated with the related Engineering group.
Knowledge of interfaces of the systems in his/her scope and with other systems outside his/her
