Role Summary: Within the UPS Service Centre of Excellence the Service Support Engineer is responsible to actively support GE customers and service organization based on the knowledge of all UPS products and product lines. He/She provides remotely technical hardware support and expertise; resolves technical matters and is able to communicate to customer about the field events with professional expertise and full knowledge of the facts; follows UPS service processes based on Industrial Solutions tools.
Essential Responsibilities: - Provide hardware support inside the Diagnostic Centre via phone/Email and CMR ticketing system. It includes occasional travels to direct customers and GE poles, to support complex installation, audit service operations and grow the competencies of local teams. - Support customer through the 24x7 rotation Diagnostic Centre tasks. -Provide basic/intermediate/advanced trainings on UPS products for customers & UPS service engineers. -Work closely to R&D team to ensure product issues are properly addressed and receive from R&D adequate training on the different UPS product lines. Interact with other departments like quality and R&D to address statistically main product issues and the continuous product improvement.
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering with several years of experience in UPS service and service support. Familiarity with UPS products. Availability to travel. Ability to write technical documents and procedures for field support. A successful candidate must be organized and efficient, with high level of technical proficiency and excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Italian (any other European language would be an advantage)
