Role Summary: The Engine Assembly Value Process Engineer will be responsible for a wide variety of technical tasks to provide support to the Evendale production final engine assembly shop and deliver projects in support of cost out, productivity, ergonomics, and quality improvements. In this role, you will follow an individual work plan, meet day-to-day short-term objectives, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning and engage in regular interaction with shop personnel.
Provide technical support as needed on assembly processes and equipment to Sourcing, Design Engineering, in house shops, satellites, customers, test, and MRO facilities around the world
Assist in meeting cost goals, delivery, and contractual requirements for both military and commercial programs, domestic and foreign
Pursue an active self-training program on value analysis techniques, shop processes and techniques, and new technology
Gain knowledge and experience to be able to provide up front Value Engineering support and troubleshooting of process equipment and tooling
Function as a member of a multi-site team of Value Process Engineers to leverage, share, and implement new processes, equipment, tooling, and support
Develop network of in-house and vendor contacts in support of tooling and equipment procurement, troubleshooting, and repair
Interface with sourcing, finance, vendors, hardware engineering, and facility maintenance to write specifications, procure, and install assembly equipment as appropriate
Interact closely with Support Equipment Engineering on tooling development, modification, and repair
Assure adequate special tooling is available to support capacity, disassembly, special workscopes, and surge
Includes new tooling procurement process, sharing with other sites, budgeting, and surplus of obsolete
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a process engineering, manufacturing engineering, shop support and / or tooling role
Experience in assembly / manufacturing engineering
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Established analytical / troubleshooting abilities
Familiarity with use of CAD and manufacturing software
Strong ability to read and interpret drawings and create drawings or sketches
Ability to work in a high tempo flexible environment with multiple customers
