Role Summary:
As part of the GE India Multi-modal Manufacturing team, Lean Specialist is responsible to lead implementation of Lean initiatives across manufacturing facility. S/he will utilize various lean methodologies to eliminate non-value add steps and waste in various activities across the plant, provide training to employees on effective utilization of lean tools to drive simplification, productivity, improvement and serve as a focal point for process improvements using Kaizen tools and methodologies.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Develop a strong operating foundation for operational excellence through basic lean processes like 5S, Visual management, Value Stream mapping
• Drive simplification in key areas of manufacturing to enable flow lines and standard work.
• Identify and execute projects to improve customer experience through improvement in performance metrics like lead time, manual touch time, capacity per shift, work in process Inventory and visual management
• Work with operations leaders to drive set up reduction (SMED), OEE improvement to world class levels (>85%)
• Provide support for new product introduction to create lean lines from introduction, especially layout, flow, balancing of Operator load,
• Coach Lean Manufacturing Leaders and operating team in the use of Lean tools and the simplification methodology to drive significant business impact
• Develop a culture of continuous improvement by capturing ideas from all levels and converting those ideas to solutions.
• Communicate progress, status and issues to the business leaders
• Seek, share and institutionalize best practices across GE businesses in India and abroad.

Qualifications/Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree with ~5-7years of supply chain experience or lean experience
2.Working knowledge of Toyota Production System: JIT, JIDOKA, and HEIJUNKA
3.Hands on experience with tools such as SMED, 5Ss, Visual Management, Poka Yoke, Kanban, Chaku-Chaku
4.Demonstrated effective leadership, communication, training, team facilitation and analytical problem-solving skills

2. Strong organizational skills, ability to handle diverse activities simultaneously
3. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with good oral & written communication
4. Strong project and team leadership
5. Fluent in English and Hindi Language (Written and Spoken)
7. Marathi Language Skills (Verbal & Written)
8. Experience working with world-class consultants using TPS tools
