Role Summary: Responsible for FOD & Lean organizations in charge of process & quality improvement, promotes Six Sigma at the Leadership level to obtain critical support and resources to ensure that improvement projects are implemented and adequately funded. Responsible to implement plans and programs to prevent FOD during production, assembly, repair, test, acceptance, packaging, handling, storage, transporting and maintenance operations. Works on very complex technological issues and manufacturing processes.
Essential Responsibilities: As Lean Leader the main focus will be:
Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional team empowered to execute the Lean Six Sigma strategy for process improvement
Learn the spirit and the techniques of Toyota production system through completion of a training program on Lean Six Sigma philosophy, theory, and application tools / tactics
Facilitate, train, and coach team members in the use of Lean Six Sigma tools
Work with operating leaders and teams to uncover and assess lean Six Sigma opportunities for GE and its suppliers
In conjunction with the Master Black Belt quality leaders and Quality Champions, serve as a change agent in institutionalizing Lean Six Sigma quality
Constantly seek, share, and implement best practices
Apply Lean Six Sigma tools to improve process capability and eliminate defects
Lead and facilitate cross-functional project teams, AWO and single kaizen events
Communicate teams’ progress to Champions, Business Leaders, and Master Black Belts
Identify potential process improvement projects
As FOD Leader he/she will:
Partner with the Quality department
Assess and maintain a FOD Prevention training curricula ensuring that all personnel (including contractors and non-resident employees) receive relevant required training
Guarantee that FOD and potential FOD incidents are thoroughly investigated to determine root cause and implement corrective/ preventive actions
Ensures audits of work areas are periodically conducted to assess effectiveness of the FOD prevention program.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
Strong experience as a Master Black Belt and robust experience in leading operations roles in complex manufacturing environment
Seasoned and deep understanding of manufacturing processes
Deep expertise on the level of a technological field
Established project management skills
Fluency in Italian and English
EU Work Permit
Experience in Aviation sector
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
