Role Summary: This individual will provide leadership and support to GE Businesses by accessing a wide variety of financing programs available with government institutions and multi-lateral organizations based in the Washington, D.C. metro area. Those programs include export finance, international investment and development finance programs offered by area institutions such as the US Exim, OPIC, and the IFC unit of the World Bank, and others.
Essential Responsibilities: • Manage GE’s day to day business relationship with the various agencies and institutions: o Prioritize GE’s applications with agency staff and ensure timely processing o Foster positive relations with agency staff, especially senior officers and Board members o Advise/educate GE businesses with agency program and compliance requirements o Partner with co-financing ECAs to solve multi-sourcing challenges • Lead/support capital-raising transactions with US Exim, OPIC, and IFC • Originate new sources of third party financing and develop simple and executable partnership programs to finance GE equipment with 3rd party capital • Provide guidance and updates to ECA Advisory COE on specific policies and regulations • Initiate contact with ECA’s on preliminary enquiries and provide deal specific lobbying and relationship support to ECA advisory team and customer throughout deal lifecycle • Support QMI mechanism to share information on investor financing appetite; advise internal or external parties on state of capital markets • Monitor competitor sales financing activity
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree • Minimum 10 years’ related transaction experience • Extensive experience in leading capital markets activity for corporate and project finance and complex deal structuring • Demonstrated understanding of due diligence committee processes required to approve capital market transactions • Effective oral and written communication skills at all levels; able to make executive level presentations, interact with wide global investor base and governmental bodies • Strong credit analysis and cash flow skills • Significant experience working with government financial institutions such as ECAs and DFIs • Must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act
Desired Characteristics: • MBA or CFA • Developed and emerging capital markets experience • Experience leading in a matrixed environment
