Role Summary:
The Commercial Contract Specialist, under the guidance of the Finance & Operations Leader for Canada, is responsible for drafting & where appropriate, reviewing agreements including customer sales & service contracts, contract amendment, supplier purchase & sale agreements and confidentiality & consultant agreements as well as responding to customer request for proposals (RFPs). Works closely with company sales, service & sourcing teams as well as customers, business managers & attorneys.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review and negotiate legal documents such as but not limited to Request for Proposals (RFP), customer sales and service contracts/quotes, amendments, Non Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), and contract renewals
  • Manage contract clause libraries and contract databases
  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
  • Work closely with proposal centre team members/key stakeholders to develop best practices for proposal and contracts content and process; participate in Voice of Customer (VOC) gathering and benchmarking
  • Consistently demonstrate understanding and accurate interpretation of GE and customer’s terms and conditions and the implications/risks associated with such terms and conditions
  • Responsible for initiating Policy 5.0 workflows plusmonthly review and remediation of 5.0 violations
  • Ensure timely review of all assigned internal workflows; consistently demonstrate understanding of workflow status
  • Managing the contract approval process to meet/exceed business cycle time requirements.
  • Translation of documents as required

    Qualifications/Requirements:
  • . Prior work experience or education on contract reviewing, drafting and negotiation
  • Bilingual (English and French) communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated experience in prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients in an extremely fast paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Word etc);
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated quality and detail-orientation is critical

  • Juris Doctorate degree or prior business law experience in a similar role in a large law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Experience of the Healthcare industry and previous exposure to medical industry regulations (FDA, Medicare/Medicaid anti-kickback)
