Role Summary: The Commercial Contract Specialist, under the guidance of the Finance & Operations Leader for Canada, is responsible for drafting & where appropriate, reviewing agreements including customer sales & service contracts, contract amendment, supplier purchase & sale agreements and confidentiality & consultant agreements as well as responding to customer request for proposals (RFPs). Works closely with company sales, service & sourcing teams as well as customers, business managers & attorneys.
Draft, review and negotiate legal documents such as but not limited to Request for Proposals (RFP), customer sales and service contracts/quotes, amendments, Non Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), and contract renewals
Manage contract clause libraries and contract databases
Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
Work closely with proposal centre team members/key stakeholders to develop best practices for proposal and contracts content and process; participate in Voice of Customer (VOC) gathering and benchmarking
Consistently demonstrate understanding and accurate interpretation of GE and customer’s terms and conditions and the implications/risks associated with such terms and conditions
Responsible for initiating Policy 5.0 workflows plusmonthly review and remediation of 5.0 violations
Ensure timely review of all assigned internal workflows; consistently demonstrate understanding of workflow status
Managing the contract approval process to meet/exceed business cycle time requirements.
Translation of documents as required
. Prior work experience or education on contract reviewing, drafting and negotiation
Bilingual (English and French) communication skills, both verbal and written
Demonstrated experience in prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients in an extremely fast paced environment.
Working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Word etc);
Outstanding interpersonal skills
Demonstrated quality and detail-orientation is critical
