Role Summary:
The Castings Operator will work at the Schenectady, NY factory to manufacture investment castings for industrial gas turbines (IGT) by following drawings and specific work instructions.



Essential Responsibilities:
As a Castings Operator, you will:

  • Work in a factory environment safely with zero accidents and/or injuries
  • Set-up and operate automated machine tools, including CNC equipment and programmable robots
  • Make minor edits to machine programs
  • Evaluate parts using various inspection tools, gages, and non-destructive tests
  • Use both manual and powered hand tools
  • Operate powered industrial vehicles & pendant cranes for material movement
  • Read and interpret engineered blue print drawings
  • Understand and apply geometric tolerances
  • Participate in EHS and lean initiatives
  • Work effectively in a team environment to meet customer deliverables


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating automated machine tools (robotics, CNCs, etc.)

  • Ability to follow all safety rules and wear all PPE as required
  • Ability to use shop math, including trigonometry and geometry
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, various shifts, holidays, and weekends as required
  • Ability to follow work rules and oral & written instructions
  • Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Desire to take ownership and accountability in work and in company success
