Role Summary: As a Staff Software Engineer you will be responsible for customization of existing CAD tools and develop system level integration tool that acts as an interface between CATIA V6 and customized AutoCAD. In this role, you will be responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
Essential Responsibilities: • Responsible for project scoping and developing detailed functional specifications for software development. • Develop interface software that can be used for transforming files and data from CATIA V6 to AutoCAD platform without any dependency and changes to downstream applications. • Collaborate with generation leaders and cross functional teams to get required inputs for interface development that includes updating existing (iGEMS) system, vault integration, customization of existing AutoCAD APIs, maintain layer and configuration structure. • Closely work with CAD System Architect, engineering teams and program manager responsible for developing overall process maps and detailed design steps for interface development. • Responsible for wing to wing development of iGEMS loader as well as its maintenance. • Provide timely support to address iGEMS ( In-house Tool built on AutoCAD) production fixes. • Adapt to integrating new and existing solutions across platforms.
Qualifications/Requirements: • Mechanical Engineering degree with overall experience of 8+ years in power industry with minimum of 5-year experience in CAD Customization using AutoCAD modules/APIs. • Strong programming background in C, C++ and C #, SQL database, Stored Procedure. • Experience in developing of Interfaces using AutoCAD14 Application Programming Interfaces (API’s) and Strong knowledge in AutoCAD API - ObjectARX (C++), AutoCAD .NET API (C#), AutoCAD LISP. • Working experience in MS Visual Studio 2010, Rad Studio 10 Seattle, Autodesk Vault Manger, Autodesk Vault API Customization, Crystal Reports. • Working Knowledge in CATIA V5/6 Interactive.
Desired Characteristics: • Familiarity with engineering process, design rules, drafting requirements, and manufacturing interface. • Working knowledge of CAD software’s especially AutoCAD14 Experience. • Understanding of engineering & software standards. • Strong interpersonal & influencing skills, High energy, self-started, with a proven record of delivering results. • Experience in 3D modeling and design engineering with good expertise in technical risk assessment. • Should show good levels of enthusiasm and interest in all computer related things. • Proactively identifies and resolves complex issues within functional areas and/ or area of expertise.
