Role Summary:
The Phosphor Equipment and Controls Engineer will develop / implement solutions to key equipment and automation controls priorities for the LED Phosphor Program with ongoing process improvement and support. The Phosphor Equipment and Controls Engineer will collaborate with the extended team and lead the execution of equipment design, programming, install, and validation testing related to phosphor process improvements and innovation.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Phosphor Equipment and Controls Engineer will :


  • Lead the execution of infrastructure and equipment tasks required for program
  • Collaborate with design / system / process engineers and manufacturing to execute required priorities for phosphor process improvements and innovative equipment
  • Lead key priorities required for successful implementation of process improvements and innovations
  • Lead program management activities and specific phosphor business priorities
  • Collaborate with team members, business experts, and consultants to ensure Environment, Health, and Safety compliance
  • Complete work in phosphor process labs at both Nela Park and Ivanhoe Road Plant

    Qualifications/Requirements:

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering) from an accredited University or College
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering design and / or process equipment (Including experience with CAD software and 3D Printing applications)

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT :


  • Fluency in the English Language (Oral and written)

    Desired Characteristics:

  • Advanced knowledge of equipment Automation Control Systems (PLC / PAC) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI)
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing equipment / infrastructure
  • PLC / PAC / HMI / Sensor / Equipment Integration experience
  • Advanced experience with CAD software and 3D Printing applications
  • Experience with connected data automation and collection systems
  • Experience with Data analysis tools.; data mining
  • Experience with design of experiment techniques
  • Prior experience with chemical processes
  • Prior experience managing and coordinating contractors
  • Ability to code PLC / PAC Equipment and debug system and / or lead contractors who will be coding / debugging the phosphor PLC / PAC systems
  • Ability to implement and maintain a high level of organization for system hardware and programming information / data
  • Prepare clear and concise system technical documentation
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to balance multiple, high-priority tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to work without boundaries to accomplish critical tasks
  • Ability to set priorities and work efficiently with limited direct supervision
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, develop and maintain good working relationships
  • Ability to perform all assigned tasks, work independently, and complete work on schedule
