The Manufacturing Shop Operations Manager will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role, candidate will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
Lead the unit business team to achieve operational goals in Service, Quality, EHS, Cost Out and Inventory using Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools.
Responsible for meeting Production Output according to the Operational Plan.
Responsible for the EHS results and reporting.
Supervise daily activities in assigned functional areas.
Work closely with other managers to share resources, drive consistent practices & ensure business goals are met.
Responsible for ensuring transactions are completed timely & accurately in the MES.
Support Plant and Financial Manager to develop operating plan and strategy.
Responsible to generate VCP Projects.
Provide ongoing supervision and counseling for employees, guiding them in current positions and assisting with career development and training.
BS degree in Mechanical/Industrial & Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
English Spoken, Written, listening must be fluent. Able to hold conversations and business reviews at high levels.
Strong problem solving and solid analytical skills.
Proficiency on manufacturing management skills as Production and Inventory control Lean Manufacturing.
At least 5 years manufacturing experience, in an assembly and fabrication processes with a strong technical background.
Ability to interface effectively with all levels within the organization as well as with external agents as customers, vendors and suppliers.
Proven mentoring and coaching abilities, demonstrated ability to motivate & inspire others.
Ability to motivate and maintain high morale, employee engagement, safety and teamwork in a union environment.
Clear thinker: Simplifying strategy into specific actions, making decisions with speed & accuracy & communicating priorities clearly.
External Focus: Understanding customer needs, marketplace dynamics, industry trends, & the competitive landscape in the industry/function.
