Role Summary: Uppsala is a key site for GE’s Life Sciences business globally, employing around 1,200 employees. The site activities focus mainly on the BioProcess business, creating technologies that pharmaceutical companies can use when they produce biopharmaceuticals.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Site Leader you will be responsible to lead and grow the Uppsala operations to support the manufacturing of our world leading chromatography resins, cell separation media, electrophoresis products and Biacore consumables for Life Sciences. The site currently supports 40% of the total LS revenue & the incumbent should be able to influence and communicate well with all levels due to the strong connection between business P&Ls, Supply Chain and LS customers. GE is currently investing on its factory in Uppsala up to 70 million annually through 2017-2022 that nearly doubles the production capacity.
Driving manufacturing team towards execution of Business Goals using Six Sigma and Lean
Maintaining and development of QMS and EHS excellence at site level
Ensuring sufficient capacity exists to achieve all customer commitments
Driving Product Quality, Six Sigma and Lean so that internal business metrics are met
Continue to develop the Business Continuity Plan and drive other ERM initiatives
Collaboration with business P&L, functions within LS to support NPI's, customer and product initiatives

Master’s degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering or similar
Significant experience working with proven leadership in manufacturing or supply chain management
Demonstrated leadership, energizing global teams & global project management
Proven business/financial acumen, including demonstrated ability to motivate, influence, solve complex problems, and drive change at all levels of the organization
Proven ability to meet deadline in a fast-paced changing environment
Proven ability to drive & manage change initiatives in a matrix environment

Lean and Six Sigma trained with demonstrated ability to apply tools and process rigor as a change agent. Demonstrated capacity to get maximum benefits by applying Lean and Six Sigma tools and processes
Demonstrated ability to deliver results in an ambiguous environment
Great presentation skills, demonstrated both internally and towards customers
Willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of time
MBA or MS
Proven ability to work on cross-functional, multi-cultural teams
Excellent project management, communication and analytical skills
Creates energy to deliver company goals through creation and comprehensive communication of practical "hands-on "operational plans and strategies
