GE Treasury team is responsible for global funding, cash and foreign exchange management, Banking relationships and other Treasury services for all of GE’s worldwide operations.
Essential Responsibilities: Almost all of GE’s debt is issued through GE Capital to support its financial services businesses. We fund ourselves through the issuance of long term debt, commercial paper, CD’s, and other debt products as well.
- Support the business and Treasury needs for market research, indicative pricing, Investments and cash solutions, Trade finance support, Credit Risk Approvals, Bank capability and product knowledge, Foreign currency liquidity management, derivatives, hedging strategies and instruments for managing foreign exchange risk - Must be able to interpret, review and finalize all banking facility documents working with legal and Corporate Treasury. - Identify and distribute relevant third party research material on macro-economics and exchange control rulings to internal stakeholders - Coordinate and drive foreign supplier payments - ensure documentation compliance with local regulations, coordinate with different business parties to ensure tracking and timely payment of foreign suppliers and proactively track and identify opportunities and risks on foreign supplier payments - Keep abreast of changes, amendments and updates to local banking laws, Exchange Control and BNA rulings to ensure that GE business operates smoothly and is compliant - Develop and build relationships with banks and BNA to ensure BNA approvals for all foreign payments (foreign vendors, inter-company, loans, etc.) are obtained timeously and efficiently with no delays. Build and maintain relationships with Ministry of Finance and Economics. - Must be able to advise the businesses on deal structuring on cash and currency controls for Angola and Mozambique - Work with Tax, Finance, Legal and the businesses to gather relevant supporting documentation to obtain Exchange Control and licensing approvals - Be the focal point to proactively consolidate and estimate cash flow forecasts , develop strategy of application and repatriation and drive execution with different business owners - Effectively manage working capital requirements of the various GE legal entities and businesses - managing the Funding of businesses through Capital injections and inter-co loans. - Must understand Banking electronic funds Transfer systems and capability - Participate in on-going Treasury projects and help achieve the defined goals and objectives of those initiatives - Ensure Adherence to the policies defined by GE from time to time i.e. Cash Management, Foreign Exchange, etc. - Other ad hoc support
Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business and 5 -10 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Banking or corporate Treasury. MBA added advantage. - Broad network of financial institution contacts - Comfortable working in a matrix organisation
Desired Characteristics: - Strong Finance, Accounting, Corporate Banking experience - Strong quantitative/analytical skills - Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills - Strong Rapport with external banking community - Must have strong local market knowledge including Oil and Gas - Ability to perform data analysis, develop logical conclusions and prepare conclusions - Ability to convey analytical needs and/or results to partners and stakeholders with limited subject matter expertise - Ability to work well with people and leverage off their knowledge and expertise across multiple functions within the organisation - Must be willing to travel - Good English and Portuguese
