Role Summary:
GE Digital is looking for a motivated, staff system administration engineer for GE vault services to build and support current infrastructure which are used to store GE critical data.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Manage the GE vault services and ensure compliance with operational standards, drive operational efficiency and compliance to tech stack & vault identified standards

  • Focus on client infrastructure upgrades, outages and platform improvements.
  • Functional validation of service updates for core applications and configurations.
  • Work directly with stakeholders to ensure seamless upgrades or changes.
  • Create weekly infrastructure and project reviews for stakeholders

  • Act as a SME for all product related engagement for vault services

  • Focus on client infrastructure upgrades, outages and platform improvements.
  • Functional validation of service updates for core applications and configurations.
  • Work directly with stakeholders to ensure seamless upgrades or changes
  • Act as change facilitator for change requests affecting Client infrastructure and services
  • Provide on-call availability to lead the troubleshooting and high visibility business impacting outages. Work directly with vendors & ops to triage and restore service in event of outages or planned changes

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent with at least 5 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in managing core networking and compute infrastructure
  • Minimum 4 years of technical hands-on experience supporting or delivering technology services in a large environment
  • Minimum 4 years working with Windows & MacOS management and support with hands on experience in configuration and deployment

    Eligibility Requirements


  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Glen Allen, VA or Van Buren, MI

  • Ability to work with global teams, act independently and as part of a team.
  • Minimum 3 years of proven success in service management of enterprise applications.
  • Participates in the design and implementation phases for new and/or existing products, with a focus on providing the technical expertise for successful execution
  • Provides guidance on technical aspects of infrastructure systems development and integration to ensure strategies, roadmaps, policies, standards, and practices are properly applied
  • Perform infrastructure qualification activities, testing sequences and change controls.
  • Oversight of execution with IT team members
    Evaluate monitoring results using Splunk and other related analytical control tools
  • Create technical documents & standard operating procedures for server build, network deployments, checklists and standardize naming conventions
  • Adapts to new environments and changing requirements
  • Working knowledge in some of the following subject areas: Windows management, MacOS management, Active Directory, Single Sign On,, WebServices, Networking, Server Mgmt
  • Familiar with Multi-factored authentication tools, Server, Windows, Linux, Networking, Storage
