Role Summary:
GE’s Greenville Gas Turbine Maintenance Technician Bridge Apprenticeship Program offers a unique opportunity to earn while you learn and bridge the gap of academic requirements. Please note that this is a 2 year apprentice program.

Essential Responsibilities:
This program provides a perfect blend of both academic studies and on-the-job training to develop the fundamentals required to become a skilled maintenance technician with GE Power.

In the Maintenance Technician Bridge Apprentice Program, you will:

  • Specialize two-year program combining on-the-job training with coursework through Greenville Technical College
  • Receive pay for academic and on-the-job training
  • Tuition, fees and books paid by GE
  • Receive mentoring, teamwork, ongoing reviews
  • Train in a variety of machine systems including conventional electronics, discreet control systems, CNC equipment, PLC’s, direct current drives, servo systems, numerical control technologies, hydraulics, and pneumatics

The Maintenance Technician Bridge Apprenticeship Program provides:
  • Hands on experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Skill set with the latest mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic technology
  • Personal development through coaching and mentoring
  • Ability to make a measurable impact
  • Entry into an in-demand skilled craft

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Minimum of 5 years of full time experience in industrial machine tool maintenance including electrical, electronic / mechanical troubleshooting and repairs
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability & Willingness to wear personal protective equipment, for example safety attire, safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs, and safety shoes
  • Ability & willingness to work in a tobacco free environment
  • Ability & willingness to work any shift (will vary depending on class schedule)

Desired Characteristics:
  • Strong mechanical / electrical and mathematical aptitude
  • Team oriented with positive attitude, and a reliable team member
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Ability and eagerness to learn
  • Ability to maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA in Technical College Courses.
  • Great communication skills
  • Manufacturing or applicable mechanical experience
