Role Summary: This position is the key lead responsible in driving operational and financial controllership for GE Oil & Gas ESP product line of Production Solutions business across Asia Pacific region. In this role, the controller will partner with the O&G operations team, work closely with finance manager to drive controllership, finance and compliance leadership, instilling a strong controllership mindset.
Essential Responsibilities: 1. Work closely with finance manager, global controllership team & key operational stakeholders to drive controllership involvement at the front end processes Detailed activities as follows – • Drive operational continuous simplification & process improvement initiatives to maximize efficiencies; including operational processes; legal entities simplification, etc. • Support on growth initiatives • Provide & support commercial and operations leaders/teams to understand financial/accounting implications of transactions and other matters by providing GE expertise & technical accounting guidance on deals. • Lead on local issues resolution (for example: revenue recognition) & communication to GE O&G- Surface controllership.
2. Responsible for the overall financial statements accuracy, including quarterly closing activities, financial reporting, representation letter, financial controls, account reconciliations, pre-close, balance sheet reviews, enterprise resource planning, etc.
3. Ensure Controllership & Compliance of all Finance Activities & Documentation within Local Statutory & Taxes, GE Corporate & Business practices, policies & requirements.
5. Partner Global Operations Finance teams to drive greater stability and processes efficiency for business teams; help to transform the finance team for optimal operating structure.
6. Serve as a “Change Agent” by influencing, communicating & institutionalizing a culture of simplification & standardization within finance and across relevant functions at touch-points.
Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance - At least 5 years of experience in a financial position
Desired Characteristics: - FMP/CAS graduate (GE employee only) - Positive attitude & can-do approach; proactive and bring energy, passion & risk mindset - Adaptable/Flexible : being open to changes in response to new information, different or unexpected, and/or to work in ambiguous situations - Integrity: accepting & adhering to high moral, ethical and personal values in decisions, communications, actions & when dealing with others. - Able to anticipate, identify, and resolve complex financial and process issues - Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate complex issues across a broad audience - Demonstrated interpersonal and team leadership skills - Solid accounting knowledge, good understanding of processes, systems and ERP functionality (Syteline, Oracle CCL) - Prior experience (preferred) in regional Asia finance environment, for example foreign currencies, international taxes, statutory reporting etc. - Experience / Understanding of Thai and Singapore GAAPs and CPA are a plus
