Role Summary: The Production Supervision Team Leader will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. This individual will utilize experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and affect short-term and some long-term business goals.
Essential Responsibilities: In the role of Production Supervision Team Leader, you will:
Provide direction to support the needs of each production area, including manpower, work assignments, scheduling of overtime, and training
Coordinate all front line activities (i.e. Methods, Production Control) and provide cross functional leadership to assure the meeting of production schedules and customer satisfaction, cost goals, and maintaining the highest standards of quality
Ensure compliance with Quality programs and standards
Practice sound human relations and communications skills in order to motivate the work force
Direct the activities of the work force to achieve desired levels of efficiency
Review labor efficiency / effectiveness reports, determine the causes for variances, and initiate prompt corrective action
Ensure adequate staffing to meet the production schedules set forth by production planning to remain consistent with the onsite budget and current business levels
Perform administrative duties in a timely manner including timekeeping, labor vouchers, self-audits, absence reviews, missing time corrections, etc.
Inform employees of business goals and objectives; initiate an open communication pattern to promote exchange of information and ideas with employees, peers, and management
Execute operating goals in EHS, Customer Fulfillment, Productivity, and Quality Development and maintain a positive, respectful work environment with all employees
Drive Lean Manufacturing practices to reduce cycles, cost and inventory
Communicate effectively with all internal and external customers
Improve manufacturing processes to reduce scrap, rework, and drive stable operations
Support all Company workplace policies including attendance and safety objectives
Work with HR to develop a performance oriented work environment encompassing timely performance appraisals (30, 60, & 90 day reviews for new employees and timely disciplinary action)
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing
Minimum 2 years of experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing environment
Operations Management Leadership Program (OMLP) graduate or equivalent leadership program graduate
Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced production environment, with constantly changing demands and priorities
Proven project management skills with the ability to successfully drive change
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively interface with all levels of the organization
CNC programming experience
Technical knowledge of welding / fabrication processes
Six Sigma Green Belt Certification or equivalent quality
