Role Summary: The Lean Leader will be responsible for leading and implementing a global lean strategy for GE Transportation (GET) supply chain operations. The lean leader will be responsible for managing and coaching teams in executing process improvements and work cross-functionally to drive projects supporting Brilliant Factory initiatives designed to transform GET supply chain operations to yield improved manufacturing speed, quality, and productivity.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition, you will:
• Create the global lean vision, drive implementation and cross functional connectivity focused on achieving customer outcomes. • Lead teams in developing and executing strategies to reduce cycle time, inventory, and waste. • Serve as organizational change agent and drive performance excellence through execution of lean initiatives. • Coach senior management in the application of lean, six sigma and other continuous improvement methodologies; define success in financial terms. • Partner with manufacturing leadership team to ensure the best technical decisions and scalability of factory improvements. • Leverage best practices from GE Businesses and externally to drive Lean initiatives and standardize globally. • Partner with cross-functional teams in utilizing lean capabilities to implement Brilliant Factory strategy; incorporate Brilliant Factory technologies into global manufacturing operations; lead project management.
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university. • Minimum 10 years of Lean and Supply Chain operations experience with a strong background in designing, building, and deploying processes that drive Lean Manufacturing practices, Process Optimization (OEE) improvements, and cost out. • Minimum 5 years manufacturing leadership experience • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an outstanding ability to interact at all levels of the organization- from the shop floor to C-suite. • Proven leader in driving continuous improvement through lean implementation in an industrial environment. • Strong project management skills
Desired Characteristics: • Proven track record of successfully implementing large cross-functional projects from concept to long term support. • Graduate Degree in Engineering or Business Administration from an accredited college or university. • Corporate Training Program graduate (manufacturing / operations/ engineering). • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt. • Experience leading global teams. • Extensive experience leading strategic teams in a complex supply chain environment.
