Role Summary: The Project Manager - Automation is accountable for developing solutions and implementing automation projects that are in line with customer requirements and business strategy. The project manager is a focal point and responsible for automation solutions in terms of the features, functionality and quality that GE offers to our customer.
Essential Responsibilities: Essential Responsibilities: You will provide strategic direction within the GE Healthcare automation portfolio, focusing on the specific customer needs; bringing deep understanding of the customer automation environment and market needs to the GE teams; and will be a source of input around product vision, strategy, roadmap and tactical choices through solutions development and will work directly with the development teams on providing necessary input to engineering on solutions requirements and design.
Key responsibilities/essential functions include:
Ensuring customer focus by communicating and building rapport with customers as required and ensuring the “voice of the customer” is reflected in work processes.
Partner with engineering, manufacturing and customer service to successfully meet customer expectations in delivery, quality and taking personal responsibility for customer support with a high degree of commitment.
Close collaboration with marketing to translate practice needs, market analysis, competitive analysis and regulatory environment factors into actionable strategies and tactics for the solutions.
Partner with internal and external domain experts to highlight emerging practice trends and product/content needs of the customer.
Conducting product research to further understand the competitive profile for the segment worldwide (where applicable) and opportunities for growth.
Working with marketing, engineering and services to create long-term product roadmaps, requirements and business plans.
Establishing tradeoffs between internal development and business partnership activities with strategic partners-including contract negotiations and maintenance, product changes, forecasting and financials.
Coordinating the needs across a multi-functional organization, including marketing, sales, operations, engineering and services teams, while ensuring compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements.
Evangelize for the solutions by presenting to customers and users groups; represent the product at trade shows; sell product roadmap internally; participate in winning large deals; provide sales training and generate enthusiasm for the solutions.
Quality Specific Goals: 1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position 2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines 3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required 4. Drive compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Control FDRs and NPI program milestones 5. Identify continuous improvement activities by initiating the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
5+ years’ experience in Automation engineering, product development, or related field, including workflow experience with similar products
Direct and/or indirect leadership experience in a cross-functional or highly matrixed organization
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Strong analytical and process skills
Strong project management skills
Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment
7+ years’ experience in the automation industry, product development or related field.
Automation product/industry/technical acumen, specifically with Delta V
Leadership skills to lead teams and shape/lead growth vision and project execution strategy
Innovation – develop new ideas through collaboration and execute on creative ideas
Team oriented – ability to motivate and work well with diverse, cross-functional teams
Proven ability to work globally
Proven ability to influence and negotiate internally and with customers
