Role Summary:
Join a dynamic team that’s using Agile to develop the next generation of mobile patient monitors and cloud-based networks. Responsibilities include designing and implementing software solutions for viewing, storing, & transmitting patient physiological data. Provide design leadership for component-driven software architecture and new feature development focusing on the visual elements of the application. The qualified candidate will have experience with real-time and non-real time software.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Design and implement software for GE Healthcare's Mobile Digital Health products
• Collaborate with architects, UX Designer and marketing to design solutions and drive those decisions into the design of the product
• Work across the entire software development lifecycle including high-level detailed design, software implementation, verification, and maintenance activities
• Author software requirements and design specifications
• Develop real-time and non-real-time software
• Develop new user-facing features
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
• Develop and execute unit, integration, and system tests to verify the design and implementation
• Apply technical expertise and oversight to ensure quality of design and implementation
• Mentor other engineers on the team to develop high quality software
• Collaborate with project team members using the Agile Scrum methodology
• Provide technical decision-making and guidance for the scrum team
• Lead the team's effort in continuous improvement

Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related computer degree
• Demonstrated proficiency in web frontend technologies, including JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS
• Demonstrated proficiency in advanced JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS, Node.js, Knockout, and/or Backbone
• Experience programming in Java
• Minimum 3 years designing web frontend applications or web technology-based mobile applications
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in object-oriented design, implementation, and verification
• Familiarity with test and behavior driven testing frameworks and methodologies
• Familiarity with software development tools (IDE, Version Control, etc.)
• Working knowledge of Agile methodologies
• Strong knowledge of software development life cycle and development environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting, discussing, and documenting technical information
• You must be willing to work in our Milwaukee, WI facility full-time
• You must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process
• You must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including for example, verification of your past employment, criminal history, and educational background
• You must be legally authorized to work in the United States full-time

Desired Characteristics:
Masters Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related computer field
• Automated design verification experience
• Experience leading design reviews for large system software designs
• Experience with multi-threaded, concurrent systems
• Experience with hybrid-native technologies such as Electron (aka Atom Shell) and Ionic
• 3+ years of experience working in the regulated medical device industry
• Demonstrated effective problem solving capabilities
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within and across various teams
• Ability to influence cross functional decision makers
• Strategic planner and thinker with ability to drive change
• Self-starter, energizing, results-oriented, and able to multi-task; tenacious and organized
• Adaptable/Flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and having the ability to navigate ambiguous situations
