Role Summary: Performs diverse and complex assignments in support of GEHC digital x-ray detector new product development, quality and reliability improvement, and cost reduction programs. Assignments may include, but are not limited to: set up and running of data acquisition equipment for tests, carrying out experiments, troubleshooting, and reporting/documenting results of tests and measures, and leading compliance and quality activities.
Essential Responsibilities: • Manage laboratory assets, including PC’s, network infrastructure, and electrical test equipment. • Coordinate and execute test PC configuration, standardization, and customization in cooperation with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Test Engineering teams. • Support, maintain, and upgrade x-ray test cells, including x-ray tube, generator, and data acquisition systems. • Utilize initiative and independent judgment, construct, evaluate and improve complex engineering models using conceptual descriptions and ideas. • Anticipate troubleshooting needs and perform complex troubleshooting encompassing multiple variables and unknowns to achieve root cause analysis and problem resolution. • Recommend, instruct, design and conduct experiments and diagnostic tests to develop conclusions and solutions. • Develop software and hardware evaluations, and implement plans using knowledge of the product, system operation, intermodule interactions, complex engineering tools, and interactive software tools as required. • Utilize advanced technical communications throughout the new product cycle to improve internal models and/or externally sourced components in terms of system performance, reliability, functionality, and serviceability. • Take ownership for business objectives including, delivery, EHS, productivity, materials, costs, output, cycle time, and quality. • Use six sigma tools to lead teams and to improve established processes and metrics. • Provide technical assistance by phone or in person to customer, field service personnel, or suppliers as needed. • Travel to customer sites to assist or lead system level installations, problem resolution, and diagnostics as required. • Comply with EHS regulations and policies.
Qualifications/Requirements: Quality Specific Goals: • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required • Knowledge and understanding of GEHC Design Controls Procedures in order to ensure that specified design requirements are met • Ensures the creation of accurate, complete and timely records
Required Qualifications: • Associates degree, or a High School diploma and 5 to 7 years technical experience • Demonstrated intuitive and advanced proficiency to logically troubleshoot up to system level, using identifiable problem solving techniques and previous experience • Ability to draw accurate conclusions from test data, malfunctions, or deviations, and coordinate implementation of corrections to the existing design or process • High proficiency to interpret and explain complex technical information. • Demonstrated proficiency to utilize and modify computerized work systems • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Demonstrated ability to work with little to no direction • Demonstrate an ongoing effort to maintain knowledge of current technology • Ability to communicate using local language
Desired Characteristics: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology related field • Digital x-ray equipment service experience • Windows PC assembly, set-up, repair, and maintenance experience
