Role Summary: Responsible for operational engineering of a set of services. Works independently and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across business.
Contributes to design discussions.
Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts.
Ability to take ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members.
Analyzes the impact of technology choices.
Helps drive pair programming practices and code reviews across the team.
Expert in writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.
Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems.
Skilled in core data structures and algorithms and implements them using appropriate chosen language.
Demonstrates expert understanding of functional and nonfunctional requirements and their priority within the backlog.
Promotes availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency by proactively sharing impact of software design choices on system operations.
Understands operating systems and networks and the tools used to diagnose problems and validate solutions.
Participate in on call rotation.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience

Understanding of technology stack and interworking of monitoring each of the components in the stack. (cloud, datacenter technologies, application frameworks, APIs, Windows, Linux (OEL/RHEL),
Deep expertise in managing various monitoring solutions- New Relic, AppDynamics, DynaTrace, HP BSM/BPM, Zabbix, Apica
Hands on UNIX and shell scripting expertise
Operational knowledge of Windows, Linux, .NET, Java, other platforms
Ability to lead and follow Agile Scrum methodology
Project Management skills
Knowledge of change management and version control
Excellent management, leadership and cross-functional team building skills
Flexible, continuous learner and knowledge sharer
Excellent communicator, works well in team environment, appreciates challenges
