Role Summary: An opportunity has arisen for a Power Distribution Senior Systems Architect. In this position, you will be expected to demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. You will be responsible for the development of power distribution architectures to support existing product development and future business. You will also support the execution of the entire systems engineering lifecycle and utilize your expertise to solve problems and guide teams.
• Serving as a recognized leader in applying the state of the art in own technical specialty to anticipate, develop and apply technology to current / future programs. • Interfacing with the customer, GE, and key stakeholders to determine and provide solutions to their needs. • Generating and documenting systems requirements that are complete and correct, integrating input from other functions. • Defining and verifying power distribution systems architectures and designs in co-operation with customers and stakeholders. • Resolving key engineering risks across functions; driving effective, timely decisions; advising senior managers where required. • Providing leadership for assigned tasks and personnel. • Promoting professional growth through technical coaching and mentoring. • Striving to continuously improve processes, methods, and technology strategy. • Fostering a collaborative working environment and displaying team-orientated behaviours. • Maintaining high visibility as a Senior Staff Engineer/Systems Architect within the Aviation community and being respected for your professionalism, positive attitude, passion for excellence, and uncompromising integrity.
• Significant experience in an aviation, power distribution or similar embedded systems development environment, including experience of RTCA DO-178B/C, DO-254, SAE ARP4754A or similar rigorous development standard. • Experience of creating and verifying systems designs, for implementation in hardware and embedded software. • Customer-facing experience at a senior level. • Proven ability to building strong cross-functional teams with systems, software, hardware, and support functions (such as Certification, Safety, and Chief Engineer’s Office). • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Physics or similar level of knowledge and experience.
