Role Summary: The Commercial Manager - Software is responsible for delivering proposals for several of GE’s product lines, primarily in Europe and Africa, but extending to all Regions at times.
In this role, you will own and manage quote and proposal generation activities, completing to the highest standards and leveraging the deal creation and approvals processes. You will support, influence and collaborate with your peer groups across Product, Services and Support to ensure both the technical and commercial requirements are captured. You will be accountable for both functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this position, you will: • Own and be responsible for generating customer proposals for Grid Solutions Software product lines • Manage and ensure compliance to all Tendering Policies, and adherence to all Tendering processes • Ensure the commercial (contractual, business terms and pricing) and technical aspects of the proposal are complete and present our solutions in the most competitive way • Work closely with the on-site Product Development team, acting as the key interface back into the Tendering organization. • Drive an improved Order to Remittance (OTR) turnover process to ensure proper control of contract flow-down requirements • Maintain a complete record of approvals on terms and conditions within the approved GE tools • Conduct and lead negotiations with customers and partners to appropriately resolve contractual and commercial issues in order to finalize deals • Understand and support the implementation of order - booking requirements • Take personal responsibility for quality and accuracy of proposal response related to terms and conditions and commercial risk management, and for winning business with integrity and within the strategies set forth for the opportunity • Implement, improve, and drive consistent processes, tools, and methodologies
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Technology field or equivalent knowledge and experience. • Proven years of relevant professional work experience. • Good understanding of product pricing and strategies • Excellent negotiation skills with experience of contractual terms and conditions.

• Knowledge of Energy Management Systems, Distribution Management Systems, Outage Management Systems, DRMS, DERMS, or GIS • Understanding of Software and licensing solutions. • Knowledge of Transmission and Distribution (T&D) industry and customers • Experience in generating complex systems proposals • Strong presentation skills • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral • Contract negotiations (terms and conditions) experience • Team player who leverages collaborative approach at all times, with strong work ethic and commitment to job
