Role Summary:
To further consolidate and strengthen our GE Renewables Energy Wind turbine service and maintenance teams in Spain we are looking for a qualified and committed Wind Field Technicians and Major Operations Supervisor.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Ability to work independently on the implementation of fault analyses and repair of wind turbine generator systems, GE and ECO technologies, in Spain and abroad when needed, including clarification of any client queries
  • Planned and preventive maintenance of wind turbine generator systems, GE and ECO technologies
  • Documentation of call-out responses, fault finding and repair work in service reports, logbooks and checklists
  • Assure that all the Major Operations (Cranes works) program for South Europe & North Afreica region is executed according to time line, customer expectations, achieving the highest standard of quality and consistency while all the EHS rules and safe procedures are compliance
  • You will Participate actively in each Majors Operation, supervising all the steps, preparation, coordination, execution, and reporting. Also collaborate in the development of the new tools & methodology to increase efficiency and increase safety for all operations under Majors operation responsibility
  • Coordinate site activities and work closely with other GE Wind Organizations (PS&W, PM, GFO, Parts, Tools, EHS, etc…) during the operation. Provide feedback with regard to best practices reducing risks to zero and assure continues improvement for all MO activities
  • Review of the WDI relative to Major Operations (cranes works) activities. Provide appropriate feedback. Support M&P during creation of WDI related to Major Operations, implementing best practices and safe process
  • Provide technical and process implementation, sharing know-how, supporting new regions and assure standardization in our way to work
  • Perform statistical analysis of cycle time, and provide recommendations, share best practices, to improve it
  • To be the interface between GE and the contractors companies
  • Support in qualification and control of third party suppliers, and contractors

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    • Professional training in electrical engineering sector (electrician, power electronics system, mechatronic engineer)
    • B2 english level or higher
    • EHS oriented, safety is your first priority
    • Leadership skills
    • Familiar with MS-Office operating system
    • Familiar with PLCs
    • High degree of quality awareness; excellent fault finding and diagnostice skills combined with the ability to detect and remedy faults, defects, problems
    • Team player, cooperative, interested in further development
    • Confident personality
    • Able to work at heights and high level of physical fitness
    • Structured worker with technical analytical abilities
    • High degree of flexibility, highly motivated with the ability to work under pressure
    • Prepared to travel throughout Spain and abroad
    • Willing to work sometimes also at the weekends
    • Class B driving license
    • Strong experience in O&M, commissioning, installation activities with related crane activities “Majors Operations”
    • Knowledge in realization, Interpretation of lifting plans
    • Use to work with heavy lift, in difficult conditions
    • You ideally have training in handling & rigging load
    • You are trained to check our own or others PPE & lifting tools/devices
    • Ability to climb WTG towers on a daily basis
    • EU Work Permit

    Non-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country: NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain. They must be in possession of them at the time of start hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement.

    Desired Characteristics:


    • Electrical/mechanical service or maintenance experience will be the additional advantage
    • Flexible in term of travel South Europe and North Africa Region
