Role Summary:

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate leadership in understanding surface wellhead equipment, able to craft and offer the optimal solution to the customer. As actual openings become available, you may be contacted to discuss a potential opportunity.

Essential Responsibilities:
Demonstrate leadership in understanding surface wellhead equipment. Able to craft and offer the optimal solution to the customer. The candidate will be an effective communicator to customers and internal stakeholders. You will utilize your experience or expertise to develop account plans and drive sales. These are exciting items for the oil & gas industry, and we’re experiencing a pivotal time for surface wellhead equipment.


• Represent GE at industry tradeshows and events, securing market intelligence and driving originations efforts
• Create and manage strategic relationships with market leaders in the surface wellhead market.
• Assign and maintain detailed account plans for key accounts
• Communicate customer requirements into the organization and ensure bidding and order requirements are clearly communicated throughout the ITO organization
• Be involved during the bidding process and support the proposals and project / operations organizations to ensure that quotations are of high quality and meet customer requirements
• Be involved in any events that require action to resolve technical and commercial issues
• Be responsible for forecasting customers' requirements and maintain a current forecast through the marketing and forecasting database, Deal Machine
• Be fully conversant with Company safety policies and procedures and always behave in a manner that satisfies EHS requirements
• Ensure that all business dealings, discussions, and negotiations are conducted in full compliance with the guidelines as set out in the Companies’ code of ethics
• You will be the point person for your customers for all matters related to sales and issuance or purchase orders
• Drive surface wellhead sales campaigns for new contracts and proposals in assigned areas
• Create profitable sales opportunities
• Assure timely resolution of ITO customer issues should they arise and customer satisfaction for assigned contracts/areas
• Function as liaison between internal GE organizations and customers for assigned customers
• Develop and implement business plan(s) to achieve/enhance profitability
• Generate regular sales updates for internal management
• Work closely with Surface sales team / colleagues to ensure appropriate sales coverage across sub-Saharan Africa
• Maintain knowledge of market trends, customer requirements, competitor actions, and customer base within assigned areas

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree (engineering) from an accredited university or college or equivalent knowledge and experience
• Extensive knowledge of surface wellhead business and oilfield services
• Must have valid authorization to work full-time without any restriction in the role’s location

Desired Characteristics:
• Self-motivated, customer focused and high commercial intensity
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred
• Proven years of experience in surface wellhead equipment sales and technical support
• Ability to work multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team
• Strong business and commercial acumen
• Ability to communicate at all levels of customer organizations, incl. senior management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong negotiation skills
