Role Summary:
The Distance Learning Program Manager for Power Services (PS) will have overall responsibility for the growth and optimization of our distance learning program; including the operations, impact and cost. This role will report to the PS Leadership & Development Leader.

Essential Responsibilities:
As the Distance Learning Program Manager, you will provide leadership and direction for the PS distance learning program. You will work closely with the PS region leadership, operations and global delivery teams on the continued development and implementation of PS virtual training – via our distance learning rooms.
In addition, you will:

  • Provide technical leadership to the business, and act as single point of contact for all issues related to distance learning and its associated technologies
  • Partner with the rest of the Leadership & Development team, maximizing the availability of distance learning opportunities globally
  • Lead efforts on implementation of updated training methods to support business growth
  • Support the global implementation of distance learning, including future growth and additional locations
  • Support the development of improved and/or automated systems to enhance the learning experience for all distance learning users
  • Tie distance learning records to GE Learning and maximize the efficiency thereof
  • Ensure maximum utilization of all available distance learning offerings
  • Drive productivity via policies, training cycle time and new technology usage/implementation
  • Support the Training Review Board process, and provide leadership and direction as it relates to distance learning usage and optimization
  • Establish all operating procedure for usage, access and sustainment of optimization results


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT:
  • Ability and willingness to travel 25% domestically and internationally, as required


Desired Characteristics:
  • GE Field Engineer Program or other PS program graduate (GE Employees Only)
  • Knowledge of Power Services information systems (GE Employees Only)
  • Ability to energize, develop, and build rapport at all levels within an organization
  • Demonstrated success in prior project or program management
  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, organizational and planning skills
  • Prior military training / development experience is a plus
    Experience in Turbine Installation & Maintenance
  • Computer literate with Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Black Belt certified or equivalent quality certification
  • Proven ability to lead in a matrixed, global environment
  • Proven ability and track record to produce and deliver results
  • Exceptional communication and team building skills
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills
  • Highly self-motivated and able to succeed with little supervision
  • Ability to apply statistical methods and modeling to business functions
  • Strong customer service mindset
  • Proven team-player and champion of team building
