Role Summary: The Test Equipment Support Engineer within the Avionics Engineering organisation encompasses all engineering disciplines with exposure to various electronic systems, mechanical & barometric test equipment. You will provide through-life expertise and support for aviation product test equipment. You will be responsible for reliability improvements, obsolescence resolution and own and drive the design change process to ensure accurate design configuration and documentation.
Essential Responsibilities: As a Test Equipment Support Engineer, you will provide through life engineering support to a range of test equipment. You will work within a small team of engineers, resolving engineering/design issues, providing solutions to TE breakdowns and executing the design change process. Other activities include the manufacture of test equipment and cables, managing the outsource of work and commissioning of new test equipment in line with the TE strategy. Key Activities: • Developing solutions to technical problems, including design changes, repairs and component obsolescence • Execution of the GE design change process for products within the team portfolios, including changes to technical documentation, drawings, bills of materials, etc, • Developing product/test equipment knowledge in order to support production activities • Managing the outsource of work packages • Manufacturing test equipment and cables • Ensuring compliance with mandatory regulations, standards and company processes
• HNC or above from an accredited university or college. • Experience of working at individual electronic component level • Experience in working in a similar environment (not limited to aerospace) • A strong problem solver with an interest in engineering and technology • Analytical, with a keen attention to detail • A good team player who is capable of operating in a multi discipline environment • Strong organisational and communication skills • Energetic and self-motivated, with an ability to self-manage tasks and priorities • Computer literacy
