Role Summary:
As the Sr Staff Technical Product Manager – FICO, you will operate in lock-step with product management to create a clear strategic direction for build needs, and convey that vision to the service’s scrum team. You will direct the team with a clear and descriptive set of requirements captured as stories and partner with the team to determine what can be delivered through balancing the need for new features, defects, and technical debt.

Essential Responsibilities:
Your priority is seamless integration and alignment of perspectives from a broad set of stakeholders. In addition, you will:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver features and major, complex products
  • Own the short-term road-map for MVP's and quarterly releases
  • Prioritize continuously in accordance with the understanding and validation of customer problems and needs
  • Demonstrate expert level skill in problem decomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity
  • Engage frequently (80%) with the development team; facilitate discussions, provide clarification, story acceptance and refinement, testing and validation; contributes to design activities and decisions
  • Own and manage the backlog; continuously order and prioritize to ensure that 1-2 sprints / iterations of backlog are always ready
  • Routinely collaborate with UX, Architecture and engineering teams on multiple issues and decisions
  • Conduct customer and stakeholder interviews and elaborate on personas
  • Partner with the Service Owner to ensure healthy development process
  • Be regarded as an expert in Agile Methodology
  • Translate unstructured or ambiguous work requests into actionable user stories and work units through problem decomposition and planning
  • Demonstrate superior persuasion and influencing skills that ensure alignment between customer, product manager and engineering team
  • Demonstrate superior product and industry knowledge and helps organization gain the competitive edge
  • Mentor junior team members; provide technical leadership to TPM's across organization

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science or in a “STEM” Major (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or equivalent knowledge / experience

    Essential Requirements

  • Significant technical experience along with established leadership credentials across disciplines and functions within a product

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Master’s Degree with significant experience
  • PhD with considerable experience
  • Exposure to implementations involving heavy use of the SAP Project Systems (PS) module
  • Experience implementing Global SAP ERP with Corporate Enterprise Standards
  • Experience in SAP integration with multiple legacy system landscapes and third party systems
  • Relevant experience implementing ERP for an Industrial Services business
  • Industry background or education in finance and/or financial related processes
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) to drive conversations with the business units on required functional needs
  • Strong prioritization skills and the ability to multi-task efficiently on parallel efforts
  • Able to bridge communication between technical areas and business areas for a full and complete understanding of expectations
  • Ability to quickly identify and analyze technical risks & impacts, define alternatives to remove technical roadblocks
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables independently in a fast paced ecosystem
  • Strong team player who works to make the entire team successful, regardless of reporting lines; not bound by strict role description
  • Experience with other SAP ECC 6.0 modules such as HR, PS, SD, MM
  • Significant experience in the application of information technologies to business solutions, including at least 4 years of SAP ERP experience in Finance; Controlling (FICO) modules
  • Full system development life cycles hands-on experience: Analysis, design, build, test, cutover
  • Experience with configuration and process flow for three or more of the following SAP modules: General Ledger (GL), Asset Accounting (AA), Accounts Receivable/Payable (AR/AP), Treasury (TR), Controlling (CO)
  • Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Software Design Patterns and Java coding principles
  • Experience working in Agile engineering environment
  • Familiarity with versatile implementation options, including Java, Node.js, Go, Python
  • Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems
  • Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts
  • Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices
  • Demonstrates knowledge on technical topics, such as caching, APIs, data transfer, scalability, and security
  • Skilled in negotiation to align stakeholders and communicate a single synthesized perspective to the scrum team
  • Balances value propositions for competing stakeholders
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the competitive environment
  • Demonstrates knowledge of technologies in the market to help make buy vs build recommendations, scope MVP's, and to drive market timing decisions
  • Influences through others; builds direct and "behind the scenes" support for ideas
  • Pre-emptively sees downstream consequences and effectively tailors influencing strategy to support a positive outcome
  • Able to verbalize what is behind decisions and downstream implications
  • Continuously reflecting on success and failures to improve performance and decision-making
  • Understands when change is needed
  • Participates in technical strategy planning
