Role Summary: Responsible for designing entire product or solution architecture, visualizing upstream dependencies across global or regional deployments, resolving scalability, capacity and performance issues. Seen as a strategist who can evangelize and plot the SRE roadmap for coming years. Responsible for driving the design and development efforts in alignment with the SRE roadmap for one or more product families.
Uses technology expertise, industry & competitive intelligence and deep knowledge customer preferences to conceive, evaluate, design & deliver superior product / service offerings that exceed customer expectations.
Develops lasting, innovative architecture that satisfies business and customer requirements, and aligns with the long-term plan for the product/service.
Applies a strategic understanding of the timing and rationale for design choices and identifies critical design areas early in the development process.
Drives new ways of thinking, across groups within the division, to improve quality, engineering productivity and responsiveness to feedback and changing priorities.
Finds opportunities for collaboration across groups in the division, ensures that cross-team commitments are set, and achieves scale in his or her work efforts by enabling the work of others.

Create and deploy services and solutions developed to support GE business teams and their migration, development, and transformation of applications in the Public Cloud
Lead development and operationalization of solutions that enable services, applications, and platforms for GE business teams migrating, developing, or implementing applications in the Public Cloud
Partner with leaders in GE Software Development teams and business IT teams to implement future technology strategy, tools, processes and improvements
Develop and maintain new tools and services to support rapid growth in cloud migrations
Provide technical coaching and direction to more junior teammates
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, similar STEM degree, or equivalent practical experience
Minimum 5 years IT experience in enterprise-wide deployments
Exceptional knowledge and experience deploying and managing Cloud technologies
Demonstrated experience scripting or developing software and services for the cloud Ruby, Python, Go, Java, Node.js, .NET, etc.
Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies
Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or other Public Cloud DevOps and/or Solution Architecture Certification
Demonstrated Hands On Experience Developing Solutions with Cloud Orchestration Tools (Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Salt, etc.)
Thought leader, and/or certification in modern IT/developer operations
Hands on experience designing and implementing solutions leveraging multiple services within public cloud providers
Strong Knowledge of IP Networking including VPC’s, VPN’s, VRF, DNS, Load-balancing, and Firewalls
Demonstrated Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle and Associated Tools
Understanding of SOA and REST
Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer; builds strong customer relationships; creates processes with customer viewpoint; partners with customers to help shape their future initiatives
