Role Summary: GE Healthcare is looking for an experienced "Senior Software Engineer" who will be responsible for programming a component, feature and or feature set. This person will have the responsibility to owns some part of the product components. Works independently and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across business.
Essential Responsibilities: Duties include (but are not limited to):
Work independently to design and develop the platform / application features for High Acuity Care products in accordance with the road-map laid out by the product/technical leadership.
Work across the entire software development life-cycle including high-level and detailed design, software implementation, documentation, de-bugging, unit testing, system verification, and maintenance activities.
Develop and integrate software platform components into the system in accordance with the software development policies and procedures.
Open to work on different User Interface technologies, willing to learn and deliver on newer technology stacks as required for modern user interface/experience development.
Investigate and resolve product complaints reported by customers / field engineers, HAC applications specialists and cross-functional engineering teams.
Facilitate the use of latest tools, IDE, techniques and development environments that enhance team productivity, share best practices with other software engineering groups within GE Healthcare.
Build working knowledge on the High Acuity Care products and get accustomed to enhance components & develop applications using a given technology.
Document designs and verification activities; perform component & subsystem level verification, participate in system level verification and validations as necessary.

Support compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before completing Design Outputs/Program Deliverables
Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps, providing solutions when possible
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering or any Equivalent degree with minimum 8 years of software design & development experience working with cross-functional teams.
Demonstrate proficiency & technical expertise in Microsoft technologies (VB.Net , C# & IIS server) .
Demonstrate proficiency in Java Technologies (REST Web Services & JBoss).
Experience in development of application/platform components using various Design Patterns.
Very good understanding of Object Oriented Design (OOD) and Programming (OOP) concepts
Experience in databases like (MS SQL) .
Strong Analytical, debugging and Problem Solving skills.
Working experience in Agile environment.
Proven skills in leading innovation from high-level definition and design through incremental evolution strategies
Familiarity with industry software development practices, tools and environments including practical usage of Configuration Management systems, Defect Tracking tools and Debuggers.
Ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary
Creative problem solver and solution developer when presented with conflicting requirements, business demands and technical risks/issues
Knowledge of GE Healthcare engineering tools and processes.
Attention to detail and ability work independently toward timely completion of a variety of assignments
Ability to develop unique concepts/solutions for complex products
Strong verbal/written communication and influencing skills
Experience working in a global team environment and a cross-functional product development environment.
Willing to learn new technologies and flexible with roles and responsibilities.
