Role Summary: To coordinate, integrate and ensure the proposed technical solutions by the Technology departments meet the project requirement from specification , applied standards , applied tests and documentation for the HVDC scheme design to equipment's supplied under HVDC CoE scope.
Essential Responsibilities: • Technical coordination and integration of project engineering work package inclusive of Systems Design, Systems Verification, Valves, Station engineering, Controls (each managed by its own Project Lead) • Establish the technical interfaces between the project team members and ensure that the data exchange schedule is in line with the project requirements • Ensure the equipment specification from the Technology Department and the supplier test plan meets the project requirements • Management of input data collection for full engineering scope with the support of the project planner • Validation of approved engineering documents prior to submission to the Project Technical Director or customer • Participation in Design Review Meetings to ensure design documents are thoroughly reviewed, coordinated and compliant with the project requirements • Lead project Engineering Gate Reviews and management of technical risk assessment • Provide inputs and be a contact point to the Project Technical Director and Planner with respect to project Schedule for all aspects of engineering • Manage engineering deliverables according to project schedule • Review and update project engineering workload plan in conjunction with the planner • Participate in project Interface Meetings with other business areas • Manage technical changes and issue resolution and act as the point of contact on project engineering technical issues • Ensure follow-up to customer technical queries and comments, in conjunction with the Project Manager • Co-ordinates all technical departments in support of site activities such as commissioning and energisation • Lead the monthly Project engineering Review meetings
Qualifications/Requirements: • Educated to degree level, or equivalent, in an Engineering discipline or equivalent knowledge and experience • Knowledge of overall HVDC systems and equipment • Experience of managing integrated technical teams • Directing technical team members to achieve results • Communication skills, both within technical team and the wider project organisation
