Role Summary:
The Secure Architecture & Design Leader leads the Secure Architecture team at GE Oil & Gas providing both strategic and organizational leadership. The team manages the design, creation, continuous enhancement, and approval of security controls for enterprise solutions essential to both internal and external customers.

Essential Responsibilities:
These span a wide range of solutions from legacy mainframe systems, internal and external globally distributed systems, virtual and hybrid systems, cloud based, software-based, and latest cutting edge solutions. In addition this role is responsible for architecting the protection of our most valuable data.

In the role of Secure Architecture & Design Leader you will:

  • Mentor, coach, and train a team of security architects ranging from first timers to experienced security professionals
  • Design and oversee the implementation of security controls protecting our most sensitive data
  • Define application and cloud security strategy and oversee its tactical execution as part of an overall security by design strategy
  • Design and oversee the implementation of security control strategies for ISO 27002
  • Develop solution architecture frameworks to support successful outcomes for enterprise level customers
  • Create a “trusted technical advisor” relationship with customer technologists and technical teams
  • Help to provide vision, define system and application architecture, problem anticipation and problem solving ability across the landscape
  • Perform As-Is To-Be analysis, define and execute solutions.
  • Lead change across large platforms / functional areas using technology solutions
  • Provide deep SW / HW technical architecture expertise to ensure proper solution design
  • Interface with internal and external contributing organizations relative to technical requirements, directions, and problem resolution

    Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent knowledge and experience (OR High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution with a significant experience in IT or technology with a security related focus)
  • Strong experience in IT or technology with a security related focus
  • Significant experience leading and managing matrixed teams

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% as required
  • EU Work Permit – if hired in Italy

    Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with secure architecture and design, cloud technologies, application security, network security, encryption and key management technologies, identity and access management principles, Service Oriented Architecture, database, ERP, PLM, and mobile and web applications
  • Expertise with SDLC, OWASP, CSA, NIST & ISO security requirements
  • Strong team leadership and interpersonal skills, with ability to lead down and present up to senior leadership
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and ability to work cross functionally
  • CISSP, GIAC certification, or other security certifications
  • Experience implementing security in a SecDevOps, DevOps, NoOps, and/or Agile environments
  • Experience with Predix, AWS, Azure or comparable cloud environments
  • Deep domain expertise in the following areas: computer / OS security, web and database server security, middleware security, infrastructure / network security, application security, and cloud security.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively analyze and solve complex problems
  • Experience with Information Security and Risk processes inside of GE (GE employees only)

    PLEASE NOTE: Houston, TX is the preferred location, however other U.S./International locations may be considered.
