Essential Responsibilities: • Lead the development and deployment of new assembly technology and solution on the factory floor such as Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality technologies, and Machining operations • Own the leadership to drive the adoption of Brilliant Factory into all the GE factories in China to improve factory productivity by using sensors, data visualization, data analytics, and digital solutions • Engage and integrate corporate and local IT teams to design, build, and support the network, server, cloud, and database infrastructure required for Factory Optimization solutions • Drive a data-driven culture to identify the most impactful areas for optimization through strong analytical evaluation of how Big Y's (Quality & cost of quality, On Time Delivery, Product Cost, Capacity, etc.) impact the business • Incorporate Brilliant Factory technologies into all manufacturing process development programs within the AMTC by providing project management skills and technical oversight
• Grow technical talent and competency of advanced manufacturing engineers (AME) across GE China, through training, creation of process standards and through technical support. • Support NPI’s with design for manufacturing, drawing and process/tooling reviews as part of program milestones. • Represent GE China to interact with Customers, Government and Academia through tours, training and collaboration, build partnership working mechanism with government and external industrials, identify external manufacturing technology to deliver productivity and enable better new product designs. • Develop and share best practices and solutions across factories in order to reduce cost and time of factory implementation projects • Work closely with the factory leaders and the IT team to ensure the best technical decisions and scalability of factory improvements • Actively participate in GE planning processes through creating a multi-year business case strategy and funding projections • Remain current with emerging technologies and advocate for their use
Qualifications/Requirements: • M.S. or above in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited college or university • Experience in product or process design, with broad knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly modeling and optimization • Experience designing, building, and deploying factory information systems that drive Lean Manufacturing practices, Process Optimization (OEE) improvements, and cost improvements • Knowledge of closed loop control systems, machine design, and sensor integration, with the aim to optimize traditional and non-traditional manufacturing processes such as assembly of complex products within GE business • Familiar with major commercial systems like ERP, PLM, MES, WMS, RFID, PLC, SC logistics
Desired Characteristics: • Working knowledge of various virtual simulations (assembly or physics based) aimed at driving process-specific productivity on the factory floor • Familiarity with manufacturing system simulation techniques & tools such as Virtual Assembly and ProModel • Proven track record of successfully implementing large cross-functional projects from concept to long term support • Demonstrated strong leadership, influencing, and communication skills (written, verbal & listening) at all levels of the organization • Demonstrated program or project management skills
