Role Summary: The Site Contract Manager works to ensure the successful execution of site construction contracts according to agreed commercial obligations, financial and qualitative targets in coordination with the Project Contract Manager as well as assure that site portions of all contracts are followed & fulfilled to the benefit of GE. You will optimize the financial result of GE for site construction contracts and be proactive in risk / claim assessment and management for site construction contracts.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Site Contract Manager, you will:
Manage site contracts according to the company process and regulations
Make suggestions to the improvement of processes and tools
Verify that all contractors payments (progress / milestone) are properly certified & documented
Provide proactively recommendations & advice on how to avoid any additional cost and where not possible how to minimize the costs of legitimate claims
Manage commercial and contractual impacts resulting from time, quality, or process related problems on the construction site
Support detailed scheduling, planning, coordination of work and continuous supervision; early recognition of possible critical deadlines; arrangement or demand for and implementation of corrective actions; forwarding of information to the Site Manager (SIM), the Project Management and delegating line office
Provide support and direction to GE site staff on all contractual and commercial matters
Ensure that contractors and/or consortium partners comply with their contractual obligations
Ensure correct contractual and commercial implementation of contractors reporting, collection of records as well as adequate administration of claims for any event
Keep the site history records such as contractors’ daily activity reports and contractor hours
Ensure minutes of weekly meetings with contractors and the clients are maintained
Keep track of critical issues and preempt new issues
Ensure that all non-budgeted costs are properly identified, classified, well documented and that the responsible parties are notified in a timely manner
Execute the On-Site Commercial Business Management & the recovery of Non Budgeted Costs from construction contractors
Initiate and support the cost recovery from other parties
Ensure all contractors’ correspondence is timely and duly replied
Ensure commercial and contractual feedback to the respective site and project organizations (including Procurement & Logistic) as well as to the delegating line organization
Ensure together with the respective Construction Managers, that all BOQ (Bill of Quantities) & scope changes are recorded and documented properly and are clearly traceable to the contractual scope & BOQ’s as well as to the respective erection / construction work package / system
Perform regularly Self-Assessments as per Commercial Site Audit Checklist and cooperate with any other commercial auditing activities performed on site
Execute and/or support Closeout of site contracts including the production of a SCM closeout report when requested
Complete and administrate site insurance claims
Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Engineering or related field
Minimum 3 years in EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) & EPCM (Electrical Power Coupling Module) and/or complex construction environment
Additional Project Management and/or Commercial education & professional registration
Understanding of Contract Law
Experience of high level negotiations
Strong communication skills
Understanding of project risk management
Fluency in written and spoken English
