Role Summary:
Responsible for re-inventing GE Lighting & Current Distribution for the future, to support LED growth and propel Connected Home strategies. Imperatives include delivering high customer service, leading logistic network transitions for Core products, managing Warehouse and Transportation operations, and assuring competitive cost.

Essential Responsibilities:

In addition you will :


  • Lead all aspects of North America Distribution operations consisting of Warehouses, third party operations, and Affiliate packaging operations - including optimizing labor efficiency and asset utilization
  • Manage transportation to ensure competitiveness and provide required services from international and domestic suppliers to GE locations, between GE sites, and deliveries to customers
  • Partner with customers and Consumer and Professional Sales teams to implement distribution solutions that enable sales growth
  • Coordinate with GE Global Customs to budget and align business resources for duties / customs activities
  • Develop and implement programs that are aligned with business strategies including site rationalization and network restructuring to enhance service and productivity
  • Drive functional managers in each area to run operations within budget and expected service level targets
  • Ensure distribution operations adhere to operating procedures, maintain a high level of customer service and quality, and meet all applicable environmental and safety policies
  • Collaborate with Finance to develop transportation and warehouse budgets and perform budget reviews
  • Identify and establish action plans to resolve gaps in performance
  • Responsible for labor management issues which can impact business

    Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous warehousing / transportation experience (including experience managing third party relationships)
  • Minimum of 10 years of management experience leading managers and professional positions

    Desired Characteristics:

  • MBA from an accredited university or college preferred
  • SAP, Warehouse Management and Transportation Management Systems knowledge a plus
  • Experience in consumer goods distribution strategies
  • Proven track record of transforming distribution networks in a dynamic environment
  • Must possess influencing skills necessary to manage cross-functional and third party reporting relationships and processes
  • Possess excellent communication and negotiating skills
  • Solid knowledge of distribution operations and overall supply chain management
  • Ability to lead effectively and manage conflicts in a cross functional, matrix environment
  • Ability to interact with multiple levels of an organization
