Role Summary: As a member of Energy Consulting Group, the successful candidate will be an active contributor to GE business initiatives related to power systems equipment and services.
Lead project teams that execute (proposing, negotiating, planning, leading and reporting out) power system and industrial system analysis, root cause analysis, power equipment modeling and simulation.
Supporting GE project(s) with power systems engineering expertise; including design and equipment specification studies, transmission planning analysis, equipment modeling, product development, service and commissioning support.
Communicate effectively with clients to support their application, testing or compliance needs, and resolve issues accordingly
Actively participate in a working environment where teamwork, quality, customer service and innovation are prized
MSEE degree in Electrical Engineering
Strong technical and analytical skills
Strong understanding of high power electronics technology and its grid and industrial application
Strong written and oral communication skills in English, the knowledge of another European language is beneficial but not mandatory
Strong Project Management Skills
Willingness to travel up to 20%.
Ability to perform engineering analysis, develop engineering solutions in a team environment, and to provide technical consulting services to customers
Significant experience in electrical or electric power engineering analysis
Passion for working in an open, sharing, and supportive environment where colleagues welcome opportunities to assist each other with solving challenging technical problems
Desired Characteristics: Professional experience in:
Electric power systems engineering with practical understanding of grid application of power electronics (HVDC and FACTS), modeling and simulations
Industrial power plant engineering, VSD application and control, power quality assessment and resolutions
Power systems consulting to lead/execute power system studies for utilities, generation owners, industrial plants
Power systems studies with emphasis on electromagnetic transient analysis in EMTP, PSCAD and/or ATP
Power systems studies with emphasis on transmission planning, operations, load flow, short circuit and dynamic modeling
Rules and regulations for transmission system design and operation, or other relevant discipline.
Knowledge in the electrical performance, control and application of thermal and/or renewable power plants
Feasibility and impact analysis of conventional and renewable assets
Active participation within industry professional societies, such as IEEE, CIGRE, AWEA, or other industry stature such as EIT or PE license
PhD or other advanced degree
Experience with programming languages and key analytical tools, e.g., EMTP/ATP/PSCAD, PSLF, PSS/E, ASPEN, EasyPower, PowerFactory, PowerWorld, MATLAB or MathCad, and MS office
