Role Summary:
You will be responsible for programming a component, feature and or feature set, working independently, and contributing to the immediate team and to other teams across business. You will also contribute to design discussions.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project
  • Develop high performing, scaling and innovative end-to-end web applications
  • Collaborate with system engineers, front end developers and software developers to implement solutions that are aligned with and extend shared platforms and solutions
  • Translate requirements / vision into prioritized list of user stories and deliver to required timelines and quality standards
  • Work with product line leaders and architects to develop multi-generation software technology plans
  • Support process improvements which guide development and sustain & support activities
  • Drive world-class quality in the development and support of products
  • Communicate effectively within immediate team
  • Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
  • Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project
  • Proactively share information across the team and target audience with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) OR Completion of a code development pair-programming, bootcamp-style, or accelerated training curriculum focused on contemporary software development OR High School Diploma / GED with a 2 year minimum of IT experience.

    Eligibility Requirements

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in New Orleans, LA

    Desired Characteristics:

    Technical Expertise

  • Expertise building web application using javascript frameworks such as Angular.js, Node.js, and Polymer
  • Experience building web and mobile applications using Java and Java frameworks such as Spring.
  • Experience with iOS development using PhoneGap, Cordova, or similar
  • Working knowledge of Responsive Design concepts and frameworks.
  • Basic understanding of databases and SQL

  • Has the ability to make basic technology choices based on experience
  • Demonstrates awareness about competitors and industry
