Role Summary: The Senior Systems Transient Performance Engineer shall posess intimate knowledge of gas turbine fuel and air control laws, and experience on transient performance on flying gas turbines. This engineer will be supporting the Advanced Turboprop Systems Engineering team in the execution of the GE93 program. This new program will produce a family of products to enable GE to grow in the Business and General Aviation market.
Essential Responsibilities: The Senior Systems Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
Perform analysis at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
Interface with all engineering disciplines to ensure continuity, quality, and schedule adherence
Develop, review and verify quality-engineering documents
Mentor other team members in areas of demonstrated expertise
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
Additional proven experience as a Systems Engineer
Demonstrated experience in transient performance of flying gas turbines
EU work Permit
Fluency in English and in Italian
Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, Aerospace, or computer engineering is preferred
Prior thermodynamics cycle, transient controls, and inclement weather operability experience
Prior experience with FAA & EASA Engine certification, specifically FAR 33.65, FAR 33.73 & FAR 33.89
Ability to sort through information and make timely and sound decisions
Six Sigma training is preferred
Ability to consistently produce high quality work in a production environment
Able to prioritize work, and communicate openly in stressful situations and make timely decisions in a fast paced work environment
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
