Role Summary: Provide financial leadership to the GE Digital Commercial sales organization. Partner cross-functionally with commercial operations, direct, channel and inside sales teams, and product managers to understand market dynamics, business performance, and devise effective commercial strategies to grow the business in a profitable and sustainable manner.
Essential Responsibilities: The intent is to drive market development efforts and big initiatives from the center (i.e., Headquarters) to accelerate commercial momentum and grow the top line that can then be cascaded across the regional sales teams once the go-to-market strategy is formulated and execution plans have been developed. The role has visibility and input from the big picture straight through to cross-functional action plans.
The role will directly support GE Digital’s Global Sales Leader and respective staff (e.g. Inside Sales, Pre-Sales, Strategy Operations) along with the Global Commercial Finance Leader-Direct to drive business performance and process simplification in order to achieve GE Digital’s and GE Company’s orders and revenue goals. A critical component of the role will be to act as a change-agent and exhibit strong leadership capabilities in a rapidly scaling digital business. Pacing weekly Quick Market Intelligence reviews (QMIs) with Global Commercial Leadership and the Regional Commercial teams will be a core component of the role.
Business and market development
Provide thought leadership and execution around GE Digital’s enterprise strategies (in terms of analytical and process-leadership capabilities) to identify business growth opportunities and promote the adoption of digital products and services in target verticals.
Measure and anticipate shifting trends in the marketplace, along with customer desires, and develop strategies to position GE Digital and the Company to capitalize on such movements.
Partner with internal and external subject matter experts to capture external perspectives and uncover opportunities for GE Digital across all regions.
Drive an objective and analytical process, leveraging all available data, to support strategic decision-making with GE Digital’s Commercial Leadership team.
Apply lessons learned through deal wins and losses and share best practices with the global team.
Lead financial management processes and support effective decision-making in partnership with GE Digital’s Inside Sales leader; support scaling-up and optimizing the organization to maximize lead generation capabilities.
Drive transparency to financial and operational metrics measuring the effectiveness and ROI of the Inside Sales organization, which is contemplated to grow globally to approximately 100+ headcount.
Professionally challenge cross-functional teams to substantiate and defend investments in order to ensure acceptable ROI thresholds are met and performance accountability is understood, accepted, and can be measured objectively.
Drive simplification and sustainability of financial and operational processes to support rapid scalability of the business.
Identify and manage risks and opportunities across the P&L in-quarter and beyond.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline with at least 5 years of experience in Finance or related function
