Role Summary:
A member of the Imaging Technology HW Compute CoE, which owns Compute Platforms for the various GEHC businesses. You will work in the global team to establish technology roadmaps, define requirements, select technology, and deliver standardized compute platforms via NPI’s. The position
requires the initiative, technical and organizational skills necessary to successfully deliver optimal compute platforms to multiple businesses with varying product requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

 Partner with cross-functional teams to lead and influence multiple workstation or server projects.  Establish compute requirements in partnership with product teams  Be a technology advocate in business and customer interactions. Communicating technology strategy in a simple, understandable manner.  Act as compute project leader for a cross-functional team to formulate plan and integrate computer platforms into New Product Introductions and Installed Base maintenance programs.  Work with engineering, sourcing, and hardware teams to resolve HW and SW quality issues and drive continuous improvement and cost reduction efforts  Research and evaluate computer technologies against performance requirements for medical device applications across the GEHC product portfolio  Develop and maintain compute technology roadmaps, working together with stakeholders.  Consolidate, define and document computer evaluation standards across multiple GEHC business units to a minimum viable superset.  Work with internal and external stakeholders to standardize Operating Systems, peripherals, drivers, applications, and enable rapid adoption of the Healthcare Digital Framework (HDF) and Predix.  Lead the planning, execution, and documentation of compute sub-system verification testing.

Qualifications/Requirements:

1. BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, and 2 years’ experience within technical discipline or equivalent (defined as High School Diploma/GED and 4 years progressive experience as an engineer, scientist within the appropriate field of study or within technical systems designs) 2. Experience with compute platform technologies and software. 3. Experience with Linux 4. Firmware or software development, and testing (such as black box) experience 5. Must be able to work effectively in a global cross-functional team environment 6. Self-starter, results oriented, and able to multi-task

Desired Characteristics:
1. Working knowledge of GEHC design tools and processes. 2. Familiarity with FDA government regulated design practices. 3. Expertise in Intel architectures 4. Windows experience 5. Ability to meet aggressive reliability, performance, cost, serviceability, and delivery targets 6. Effective oral and written communication skills. 7. Experience with scripting languages (such as bash, perl, python) 8. Ability to recruit/assemble diverse opinion leaders to influence and shape business and technology decisions
