Global Services Technology is part of the Healthcare Services business. The vision of the technology organization is to drive differentiated customer experience leveraging technology as a strength. GST enables the prediction of failures for scanners with its market differentiating InSite on Watch technology. GST enables the secure connectivity of all the distributed scanners / devices for the HCS business which helps in remote diagnosis and provides optimized service workflow solutions for service engineers to enable higher VCP. All of this is achieved by leveraging the state of the art enterprise technology like J2EE, Java and other latest technologies.

Role Summary:
Job Overview:The Senior Design Engineer has responsibilities extending to the design and development of application software within the Global Services Technology Business

Essential Responsibilities:

- Responsible for programing a feature and/or a small feature set.
- Contributes to the team and works with direction from Senior Team Members or management, beginning to work independently
- Has the ability to take ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary
- Demonstrate the ability to help team members
- Demonstrates awareness about competitors and industry
- Has the ability to make basic technology choices based on experience
- Applies principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
- Skilled in writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.
- Skilled in core data structures and algorithms and implements them using language of choice
- Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps, providing solutions when possible.
- Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science Engineering or related computer field
* 3-5 years of experience in software development
* Software development cycle and automated testing experience
* Experience in object oriented design methodology and various programming languages including Java/J2EE, Struts, Spring, Hibernate, OSGI, AngularJS, Web Services, HTML5, CSS3.
* Knowledge in other programming languages including C++, Unix/shell scripting, etc
* Experience in application / component designs.
* Working knowledge in configuration management tools and linux and windows development environments.

Desired Characteristics:
1. Masters Degree in Computer Science / IT field.
2. Experience working as part of teams following Agile Scrum methodology
3. Knowledge of GE Healthcare engineering tools and processes.
4. Ability to develop unique concepts/solutions for complex problems.
5. Knowledge/Experience in Healthcare.
6. EEDP candidate preferred.
