Role Summary: The End User Technology Operations Engineer will be responsible for running client platforms including Windows 7/8/10, MacOS, data backup, VDI, and other client technologies. This is a critical role that will focus on infrastructure upgrades/outages/improvements, problem resolution, client fleet compliance, and capacity planning to ensure requirements are met for technology introductions.
Focus on client infrastructure upgrades, outages and platform improvements. Functional validation of service updates for core applications and configurations. Work directly with stakeholders to ensure seamless upgrades or changes.
Act as an expert with customizing application and operating system settings through native and 3rd party tools such as: Installation Packages, Registry, Configuration Mgmt, MDM, and administrative scripting.
Act as change facilitator for change requests affecting Client infrastructure and services. Drive quality through change validation to ensure first-time-right.
Complete quarterly demand and capacity planning reports covering all infrastructure elements.
Act as the Level 4 engineer in operations escalation chain, responsible for troubleshooting all technical incidents beyond the expertise of L2/L3 teams. Ensure smooth transition of tickets & timely closure of cases. Manage client vendor relationships on long-term problem resolution code fixes.
Lead support teams working on client technologies to deliver world-class break-fix operations and customer support. Responsible for driving team performance to meet service level goals.
Provide on-call availability to lead the troubleshooting for all Priority-1 and high visibility business impacting outages. Work directly with vendors to triage and restore service in event of outages.
Help design, plan & build next generation service continuity solutions that will enable client technologies to run smoothly within GE. Proactively identify improvement opportunities to simplify or improve quality.
Participate in the planning and execution of annual Business Continuity and DR testing.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other technical discipline.
Minimum 5 years of technical hands-on experience supporting or delivering technology services in a large environment.
Minimum 5 years working with Windows & MacOS management and support with hands on experience in configuration and deployment.
Minimum 3 years of proven success in service management of enterprise applications.
Ability to work with global teams, act independently and as part of a team.
Availability during off-hours to respond to and lead resolution of urgent, service affecting issues.
Flexibility; ability to handle multiple long & short cycles, major & minor tasks simultaneously, while maintaining an aggressive delivery schedule.
Process-oriented; able to devise and implement plans and courses of action from high level down to individual steps.
Strong team player; collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources.
Strong problem solving skills, communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information/data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve.

Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and/or industry activities.
Working knowledge in some of the following subject areas: Windows management, MacOS management, VBscript, Powershell, Active Directory, Single Sign On, Shell Scripting, C#, SQL, WebServices, XML, SW Packaging, Networking, Server Mgmt
