Role Summary: The Staff Infrastructure Architect will be a hands-on role responsible for architecture and implementing business enabling solutions for GE teams consuming services from the public cloud. This role will serve as a subject matter expert for multiple public cloud services, and provide expertise to teams migrating their applications to the cloud. This role will partner closely with GE Business and Software, Enterprise & Cloud Architecture, as well as IT Risk and Compliance teams
Serve as a technical subject matter expert for multiple public cloud services (such as, but not limited to VPC, VNet, EC2, etc).
Rapidly prototype and conduct technical feasibility assessments for solutions targeted for the public cloud.
Capture business requirements from product, services, and business teams, and architect cutting edge solutions to solve business challenges.
Architect and present review sessions with business partners evaluating tradeoffs between design, risk, and technology.
Develop and integrate technical security architecture into cloud solutions.
Apply advanced technical knowledge and skills in developing solutions or problem solving where complexity, innovation and technical expertise are required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management or 3+ years experience in developing, implementing and maintaining large scale Cloud Service technologies and processes
Demonstrated experience in Cloud Service development, compute engineering, automation, architecture and implementation
AWS Certificated Assoicate Solution Architect or Microsoft Certified Solutions Architect (or demonstrated ability to achieve certification).
Additional Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or other Public Cloud Certifications
Demonstrated Experience Automating Production Cloud Workloads
Demonstrated Hands On Experience Developing Solutions with Cloud Orchestration Tools (Chef, Puppet, CFEngine, etc.)
Strong Knowledge of IP Networking including VPC’s, VPN’s, VRF, DNS, Load-balancing, and Firewalls.
Demonstrated Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle and Associated Tools
Understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA and REST)
Proven ability to lead change across large platforms / functional areas using innovative technology solutions
Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer; builds strong customer relationships; creates processes with customer viewpoint; partners with customers to help shape their future initiatives
Strong analytical and strong problem solving skills - communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information/data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve; creates actionable strategies and operational plans
Change oriented – actively generates process improvements ; champions and drives change initiatives; confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways, balances multiple and competing priorities and executes accordingly
