Role Summary: The Lead Network Engineer–LAN will be a motivated, energetic, and experienced technology professional. Primarily focused on LAN-related projects, this role will be a key member of the Network Product Delivery team and will be responsible for implementing new solutions impacting GE sites across the globe. This engineer will work with design engineers, vendors, and various IT teams to build out infrastructure, solve problems, drive change, and complete technical migrations to network products.
Subject matter expert in the standard local network design for a variety of GE site environments including offices and factory floors.
Collaborate with the network design/architecture, data center, remote build, security, and operations to create comprehensive network solution standards for GE.
Key LAN/WLAN technical interface with GE engineering teams and suppliers.
Support the continuous build of LAN products developed with supplier partners and GE including switches, WLAN, access points, and firewalls.
Document network standards, configurations and scripts for product and technology reuse.
As subject matter expert in LAN solutions, provide level 3 support to internal and external partners during implementation, changes and incidents, making technology choices at individual level with the ability to analyze impact.
Develop your technical and leadership skills through training and project experience in order to grow into greater technical responsibilities.
Mentor and coach team members on skills development and successfully completing technical assignments.
Direction and oversight of contractor resources in the delivery of network engineering related services and projects.
Define and align engineering processes in collaboration with the broader CoreTech Solutions Network Architecture & NTI Build teams.
Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, other technical field, or 7 years of experience in lieu of degree.

Must be willing to work out of a GE Digital hub site.
Proven technical expertise in LAN and WAN infrastructure, wireless networking and firewalls.
Cisco Certified Network Professional or minimum 5 years technical experience implementing global enterprise networks.
Experience implementing global IT technology programs in a large enterprise.
Strong team player – collaborates well with others and contributes ideas to solve problems.
Actively incorporates own experience and input from various sources.
GE DTLP (Digital Technology Leadership Program) graduate
Experience with router, switch, and firewall configuration (Cisco/Checkpoint)
Expertise in network implementations in a manufacturing plant environment, including wireless and industrial networks
2-5 years of IT infrastructure technical project management experience
Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and facilitation skills
Effectively communicates technical concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders and across various levels of the organization
Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities in time-sensitive situations when data may be incomplete
Able to contribute to and drive decision making in an ever-changing technical environment
