Role Summary: The Analog Electrical Engineer position will primarily be responsible for the development of analog control sub-systems used within a Magnetic Resonance (MR) system. The candidate will join the MR HW Power Electronics and Controls Engineering group and interface with a global team to design, test and implement analog and power circuitry as part of new product introductions. The candidate will leverage knowledge of analog design techniques and control standards to ensure a quality product.
Essential Responsibilities: Duties include (but are not limited to): 1.Write detailed functional specifications that document newly created designs and support product introduction. 2.Provide technical support to team throughout product development and implementation process 3.Supporting install base including Customer Satisfaction Opportunities, Site issues, Install and Warranty cost, Supplier design change requests etc 4.Proficient with analog electronics lab test equipment and troubleshooting techniques 5.Test and verify hardware to ensure that they meet specifications and requirements, by recording and analyzing test data 6.Construct control system models and simulations to prove out design concepts; leverage models to build, test, and modify product prototypes, using MATLAB, SPICE, or Simulink 7.Capture electrical design schematic using an ECAD system 8.Review and approve layout done on the ECAD system 9.Participate in technical design reviews, risk assessments, FMEA etc. 10.Develop Requirements in DOORS, Sub-System Requirement Specifications and Execution 11.Engaging in all phases of new product introduction: concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support 12.History of continuous development of core competencies in analog and/or power engineering field 13.Identifying and developing new opportunities to leverage Strategic Sourcing objectives and Common Technology initiatives in the MR product line
Qualifications/Requirements: 1.Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field 2.5 years relative work experience in analog hardware 3.Demonstrated experience working with complex analog designs and simulation tools 4.Working knowledge of project management processes and procedures 5.Working knowledge of Mechanical and Thermal aspects of sub-system design and packaging 6.Circuit design and simulation tool experience 7.Schematic capture experience 8.Practical PWA board bring-up and system integration experience 9.Experience with typical electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers 10.Demonstrated self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task 11. Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills
