Role Summary:
You will be working within Process Engineering Team driving World class Technical design leveraging industry both ITO and OTR process for Power Plants worldwide. Support delivery streams with lean and innovative technical solution across functional domains. Specializing in Plant & Thermal Design, BoP for various large scale Boilers and AQCS applications.

Essential Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
  • Deliver Thermodynamic Performance calculation, controls and optimization solutions that meet the CTQs of our Power Generation assets,

  • Perform Engineering studies for Boiler Thermal Performance, Energy Recovery Solutions and different BoP applications,

  • Use various Software solutions to establish, develop, configure & validate models to support the requisition for either OEM and oOEM fleet in terms of thermal performance evaluation and anticipated boundary conditions,

  • Support Lead Engineer with Technical Risk Assessment Process to deliver performance values & conditions,

  • Develop and deliver Performance measurement procedures and correction curves for given project,

  • Take the responsibility for provided Performance data and update HBD's based on the project progress in the OTR phase,

  • Evaluation of existing DCS historians, troubleshooting. Contribute developing RCA in case of NCR,

  • Apply creative problem solving skills to develop solutions to product delivery and development challenges, or in support of business programs,

  • Coordinate with critical functional organizations & CTHs to ensure proposed solutions are compatible with the unit, customer needs and GE design standards,

  • Provide critical Engineering support for business programs (FastWorks, Simplification, cross functional engineering initiatives, etc.),

  • Assist in development of new technologies and procedures, which will help reduce overall product cost & cycle. Driving own NPI and FastWorks projects,

  • Knowledge of EN codes for plant performance, knowledge of ASME would be beneficial,

  • Travel to domestic and foreign Power Plants (10-15%),

  • Document technical data consistent with engineering policies and procedure,

  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (Power / Process Engineering) (or equivalent knowledge/experience),

  • Strong professional experience in Power Generation industry in the areas of integrated Plant Operations, Thermal Performance, Advanced Process Control, Commissioning and Testing, or a combination of these,

  • Strong Power Generation equipment design experience or operations & maintenance domain expertise,

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to convey technical concepts to business and technical personnel,

  • Strong analytical skills working independently and in a team,

  • Understand GE's products portfolio, capabilities and limitations in sufficient detail to be able to develop offerings that meet customer needs,

  • Experience in plant performance and systems operations,

  • Familiarity with power plant DCS and plant historians,

  • Working knowledge of thermodynamic modeling & simulation software,

  • Familiarity with testing and measurement systems and with data interpretation,

  • Experience working with customers,

  • Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems,

  • Experience working with field data and information,

  • Working knowledge of Thermal modeling, analytic platforms & data visualization methods,

  • Understanding of contractual consequences for the given performance,

  • Controls & integrated plant operations across various plant operating scenarios,

  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen,

  • Must be willing to travel 10-15%,

  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Brno, Czech Republic (on temporary basis).
